About the role...

The scope of the role covers all Shop Direct (SD) and outsourced locations, both on and off-shore, and may require travel and presence at each of these sites at various intervals.

You will be providing assurance that governance and compliance requirements for access to all shop direct management information, applications and infrastructure are adhered to in line with SD policies and standards, and that general IT controls are adequate, effective and are operated in line with agreed control objectives. As part of this, you will be involved in reviewing technical security minimum requirements designed to restrict access to business applications, mobile devices, systems and networks to authorised individuals for specific business purposes.

A key element of the role will be the provision of assurance that Third Parties with which SD contract act and perform in accordance with SD risk appetite (including assurance over Data security controls). This will involve liaising with all relevant internal and 3rd Parties/Partners to ensure that appropriate access controls are implemented in line with Shop Direct Policies and Standards.

You will also play a key role in the production and delivery of regular testing/monitoring/insight and second line assurance reports to effectively communicate risk management issues and internal control deficiencies to Approved Persons, the FS Board and the wider Shop Direct business. To achieve this, you’ll need to build relationships to enable effective risk and assurance partnering with IT, major programmes and other change activity, collaborating with business owners/stakeholders to identify and document the risk position around key business applications.

As part of the role you will be coaching and developing a team of Assurance Managers to ensure an appropriate level of IT and Info sec awareness. Alongside this, you’ll also have responsibility for coaching and developing a first line network of Risk, Compliance, Data and Business Continuity coordinators.

About you…

You’ll come from a background in data and IT assurance or control, ideally in an FS background, but possibly a similarly regulated industry.

You will demonstrate a track record of building relationships and communicating your ideas with clarity and possess the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

The ability to work within a dynamic and changing environment where priorities and activities will be changing is vital. You will be able to respond energetically and proactively to drive change at a fast pace to help deliver for our target customers.

You’ll be a great communicator both verbally and in written form. You’ll be comfortable influencing a wide variety of stakeholders and working very collaboratively, you will be able to challenge, feedback and regularly multi-task. The ability to innovate and create is also welcomed and you will be comfortable working under pressure, to tight deadlines.

Our benefits.
